The RRS James Clark Ross is currently on the long oceanic passage from the Falkland Islands to the United Kingdom. This passage will take four weeks to complete, with the ship making an average speed of 11.5kts. Out ETA for the UK has been brought forward by two days, arriving on the 24th May.
The full Daily Updates will be published on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, whilst the Daily Menu, Position Report and Dartcom satellite image will be posted daily.

This is going to be a very short update due to having very little to report on and also the fact that I now have one of my fingers in a splint and it is making typing very difficult!
On the radio front I have had an excellent couple of days of activity from within Grid HL, which I understand to be a fairly rare one with no land in it. The ship will be moving into IL later this evening.
The weather has remained very good, although it is starting to cool down a bit now. The sea state has been very good and the painting works continues to go well. A few more dry days and it might be done, although we have only scratched at the surface when you look and see how much there is to do.
The next update should be on Sunday evening.
